Christmas is in the air!
The children of Vanar years joyfully immersed themselves in the festivities related to the festival of Christmas. They imagined smelling ‘cold’, ‘snow’, ‘cookies’, ‘cake’, ‘Christmas tree’, ‘reindeer’ etc in the ‘Christmas air’. They responded with love and care for Baby Jesus on witnessing an enactment of the ‘Birth of Jesus’. Nativity scenes were created by them in their respective groups using recyclable material and things from nature.
All the children got into the festive fervor by making decorations for their groups. The older children of Kindergarten reasoned and chose a tree from their vicinity. “हम किसी भी tree को Christmas tree बना सकते हैं”. Their joy while engaged in decorating it saw them singing carols while their hands were busy.
The essence of ‘helping and giving’ was maintained throughout the week through the stories and discussions initiated by group didis. Delving on how it gives us happiness when we help someone, our little children sought opportunities to be helpful to peers and group didis. An enactment of the story ‘Christmas with Rudolph’ by the children of Vasundhara group very eloquently shared the same message with all.
Making Christmas goodies with their own hands and then taking them home for family members was definitely the highlight for our children. “मुझे 5 देना। मेरे घर दादा दादी भी हैं। मैं उन्हें भी खिलाऊंगी।”
The festive look of Nandanam where all children and Didi Bhaiyas gathered to celebrate Christmas filled everyone’s hearts with warmth as they merrily wished and sang songs.
‘Merry Christmas’ and best wishes for the New Year.
