The vision of the school is to create and nurture a learning community of students, teachers and parents – a community that believes in the possibility of progressive development of children and adults through change in education. Each child is recognised for her own strengths, creating an environment free of judgement and conformity.

It’s a place where ‘I can be me’; true for a facilitator as much as for a student! Our Vision is to enable each child to develop a character that engages with the world with self-worth and acceptance of the other.

Drawing inspiration from the philosophy of Integral Education integration of physical, mental, social, emotional and psychic self of children is emphasised. We believe that acceptance of the self and conflict resolution through dialogue opens pathways to peace.

In the school children and facilitators are both learners; together they discover and construct knowledge. Collaboration is not limited amongst humans; we believe in co-existence and learning to live with and from Nature.

The Annual Art Portfolio Exposition 2020

We are pleased to announce our new website, named Art at Shikshantar, which is hosting its first show, The Annual Art Portfolio Exposition 2020. It presents the artwork created by the art students of Classes IX to XII of the past one, or two years, as the case may be. To visit the page, please click on the link below or in the attached poster, preferably, using Google Chrome.

This website has been created and designed completely by a handful of students of our IT Committee of the Shikshantar Student's Council. They have worked dedicatedly and untiringly to program the website and make it work smoothly. The task was quite challenging, to say the least, considering the number of participants were 71, and the total number of artworks, close to 400. 
 

Artworks were collected in school, scanned, uploaded on the cloud, named in a particular format, and then uploaded on the website. The work was started in early November, and finally wrapped up this week!

Needless to say, there were errors and plenty of reworking and revisions. As the first-ever digital exposition of this scale, created from scratch by the students, it is a commendable effort by these budding programmers. Also playing an important role where some members of the Visual Arts Committee who participated in the process with enthusiasm and suggestions.
