TERI- Green Olympiad 2025
On 10th November 2025, Shikshantar School, Gurugram hosted the GREEN Olympiad 2025, the flagship environmental initiative of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Twenty-four students from Classes VII to XI participated in this nationally recognized assessment, joining thousands of learners across India in reflecting on one of the most urgent conversations of our times- ’Sustainability’.
Launched in 1999, the GREEN Olympiad is India’s premier environment-focused Olympiad. Over the years, it has evolved into more than a knowledge-based competition-it is a platform that encourages young citizens to deepen their ecological awareness and strengthen their commitment to sustainable living.
The 2025 edition explored themes including:
- Air and climate change
- Biodiversity and ecosystems
- Water and waste management
- Energy and green skills
- Culture and sustainability
- Mission LiFE and responsible living
The questions invited students to think critically about interconnected environmental systems and contemporary global challenges. At Shikshantar environmental consciousness is not confined to a syllabus, it is woven into everyday life. Through inquiry-led learning, reflective dialogue, and community engagement, students are encouraged to see themselves as thoughtful custodians of the Earth. The Olympiad offered students an opportunity not merely to test their environmental quotient, but to reflect on how their everyday choices intersect with global sustainability goals. In a time when environmental concerns are increasingly urgent, such engagements strengthen both awareness and action.
