Summer Exhibition in Classes I to IV

The summer break was a rejuvenating break for the children of Classes I to IV, the spaces in our school were abuzz with giggles and excitement of returning back to school. The children came back with hundreds of stories around meaningful engagements that were explored through the summer engagement plan. Children celebrated each other’s learnings, appreciating each other's work and during one such circle time they together planned the inter group exhibition. Each class level displayed an array of experiences. The budding readers of class I enjoyed exploring and reading a variety of books. It was heartening to see them collate the books read by them innovatively in the form of their Reading ladders. In continuation of the theme 'Magic with hands' they created magic in the form of family puppets, sand and nature art. Class II further deepened their connection with the planet Earth. Their imagination knew no bounds while working with the waste material keeping in mind the theme of 6Rs. Enhancing the sensitivity towards our planet Earth, they fed leftovers to nature friends and beautifully made bird feeders out of reusable material. Class III closely observed the world of insects and researched about the insects that were attracted to light. The interactive board games made numbers so much fun. Class IV children traveled to the past and indulged in visiting, researching and exploring the history of different monuments and relishing a variety of cuisines from different parts of India. Exploring the world of ‘Charlie and the chocolate factory’, adding their own characters to the novel and making their own chocolates was an equally exciting experience. Children added their own rainmakers, shakers, zoetropes and kaleidoscopes to the world of toys. The artist within each child emerged through the musical instruments explored and created by them reusing waste material. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring all the experiences from different classes and took immense pride in conceptualising the exhibition right from organising it to taking turns on manning the corners.
