 75th Republic day Celebration

The morning of 23rd January 2024, was pulsating with enthusiasm and anticipation with the much-awaited inter-class Republic Day Annual Debate.

Preparations began in December with the learners of Class VII exploring the theme of Communication where they were introduced to the art of public speaking. The project aimed to enrich focused listening and speaking skills in the learners, through various activities.

This year, Senior School students as members of the Literary Committee came forward to orient their peers of Classes VII and VIII, on public speaking. Listening to their seniors who were one in their shoes, was a motivating factor promoting increased participation. Students of Class VII presented well-researched arguments in the intra-class debate on the motion ‘Advertisements often rely on manipulation more than persuasion to influence consumers'. Similarly, learners of Class VIII were engaged in persuasive arguments on the motion, ‘Long-standing heritage buildings can be demolished for progression and urbanisation’ for the preliminary rounds.

The final round of the Republic Day Annual Debate, held on 23.01.2024, Tuesday, began with remarkable energy as participants enthusiastically delved into the motion 'Development of Artificial Intelligence is depriving our society of creativity and humanity.'
The participants spoke eloquently, exuding confidence in articulating their views and skilfully handling rebuttals. The audience contributed to this stimulating experience with their insightful questions. The performances were adjudged by the Senior School English facilitators, who applauded the efforts of the participants and shared their valuable insights on public speaking and debating skills.

The entire experience proved to be wonderfully enriching for the learners, offering them valuable exposure on how to enhance their communication skills.
