Oorja in Full Bloom – Class IV
As Shikshantar blossoms into its 23rd year, the children of Class IV immersed themselves in the vibrant oorja of flowers that bring life and colour to their world. While their love for green spaces has always been strong, this year, their journey took root in a deeper exploration of the energy, beauty, and spirit that flowers embody.
It began with stories, guided meditations, and expressive movement, gradually unfolding into a mindful nature walk - where colours, textures, and floral whispers sparked awe. Each child reflected on the unique oorja of a flower that resonated with them, giving voice to feelings evoked by these gentle companions.
Their expressions bloomed through songs, handmade flowers crafted with quilling, folding, and embroidery, and movements inspired by petals and breeze. The Butterfly Garden became a living canvas - igniting collaborative creations of flower-filled models and thoughtful observations.
In their write-ups titled ‘If I were a flower...’, each child imagined the flower they’d be, the place they’d grow, and the energy they’d carry, revealing deep personal connections to nature’s quiet magic.
Through illustrations, reflections, and heartfelt sharings, the children reminded us that just like flowers, their presence adds joy and oorja to Shikshantar - truly making it “a place where I can be me.”
