Oorja Within and Around Us - Class I and II
Children are connecting through immersive experiences with the word 'Oorja' as an energy that nurtures us as we nurture it. The theme for the 23rd Shikshantar birthday being ‘Oorja within and around us’ children of Classes I and II associated their own oorja with Krishna through spaces around them, their relationship with friends, trees, plants and animals. During one such experience Seema Didi narrated the story of ‘Krishna and his magical flute’ to deepen their bond with their inner being.
The dramatic narration and creative movements by didis around the songs of Krishna ‘छोटी छोटी गइयाँ..., मेरे घूंघर घूंघर बाल..., चुपके चुपके कान्हा आया माखन चुराने... ’ added vibrance to the story narration and took the children into the world of ‘Krishna’- their most loved character with his childlike energy and love for animals similar to the magical ‘Oorja’ in each child.
Seema Didi through her story shared about how helping those in need connects each one of us and that “the magic of oorja lies not in the flute but in the hearts of children like Krishna who had the cows, the monkeys and the bird as friends.”
Reflecting on the essence of ‘Krishna and the magical flute’ children also shared about moments when they feel the magic within them- “I feel magic when I draw”, “I feel the magic when I help someone” and also “जब मैं अपना पूरा काम ख़त्म कर लेती हूँ. “
