Oorja Within and Around Me - Class III
This year, for Shikshantar’s birthday, the children of Class III embarked on a vibrant journey with the theme – ‘मेरी ऊर्जा के बदलते रंग कहानियों के संग ’. They began by wondering, “What is Oorja (energy)?”
Through Circle Time conversations and shared experiences, they discovered that Oorja is always around us - sometimes outside, sometimes deep within. They noticed how their own Oorja changes - its colour, shape, and intensity always shifting, never staying the same.
Stories became their best companions in this exploration. Just as people, spaces, things, emotions and situations all carry their own special Oorja, stories too radiate their unique Oorja. Each story touched the children differently, making them laugh, reflect, wonder or feel deeply.
The spaces of Shikshantar came alive with story narrations and creative movement. Seema Didi's engaging narration of ‘Leo, the Lion Who Wanted to Love’ stirred the children’s hearts, inviting them to connect with the gentle yet powerful energy of love.
Through immersive experiences like Energy Mapping and Whispers of a Story, the students discovered how the Oorja of a story resonates with and transforms our own inner energies. As children listened to different stories read by their group didis, they began tracing the rhythm of stories, creating heartbeats of stories that showed how the energy rose and fell as the tale unfolded. They created story mandalas, slowly unfolding each layer of the story’s energy, watching it grow and spread like patterns from the centre of a mandala.
This journey gave the children more than just stories. It helped them discover a new way to understand and express the ever-changing colours of their own inner world.
