Lohri celebration 2023

We celebrated the harvest festival of ‘Lohri’ as a symbol of change in seasons, enjoying the warmth of ‘Bonfire’ offering ‘groundnuts and rewari ’ to the sun God. Members of Shikshantar family danced and sang to the tune of ‘dhuni lohri de jalaaye…..’ and many other songs. Didis also shared the essence of other harvest festivals celebrated in different states like Makar Sankranti and Pongal. We ended the celebration with our thoughts on the similarity between the warmth of the sun and the long awaited cheer and laughter of the children after the winter break and the forces of nature that come together giving bountiful crops.
