Circle Time with Minoti Didi - Brishti Class III
“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky.”
- Thich Naht Hah
Children of Brishti group delved into the world of feelings, connecting them beautifully to their ongoing theme of the Human Body. A reflective Circle Time with Minoti Didi opened a gentle space for them to pause, share and wonder about the many emotions that visit us in a single day.
As the conversation unfolded, children began exploring both easy and uneasy feelings, noticing where they arise in the body. “Didi, I feel sadness and disappointment in my forehead like it’s locked there and I can’t push it out,” one child expressed. Another spoke of uneasiness felt in the knees, while someone else noticed it quietly sitting behind their ears. Together, they began to realize how deeply our bodies become home to our emotions.
Didi further led the session with the analogy of feelings being just like clouds while our happy space, a clear mind being the blue sky. “Just as the clouds drift away with the wind, could there be actions or thoughts which can break up the clouds of our uneasy feelings as well?”
The children reflected deeply. Many shared the ways they find light when clouds feel heavy: “Drawing or eating something helps me.” “Reading a book, meditating, or chanting moves my clouds away.”
They also discovered that sometimes, simply noticing and reflecting is enough - the uneasiness dissolves on its own, just as clouds fade to reveal the blue open sky.
And just as the body holds uneasiness, it also holds joy. Children spoke of their happy places: their eyes lighting up with laughter, their noses filled with the fragrance of food or flowers, their hands finding peace in painting or play.
This thoughtful journey came alive as children penned down their experiences in the form of heartfelt write-ups, drawings and tender poems. Their words reflected their growing awareness that feelings, no matter how strong, come and go as clouds and within us always remains the blue sky of clarity and calm.
