Building the Inner Self - Class IV

On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, a heartwarming session unfolded around the Stupa where the present Class IV children were joined by last year’s Class IV friends along with Isar Bhaiya and their previous group didis in a reflective journey of Building the Inner Self.

This session marked a beautiful completion of a circle of learning where the older children, having once received the same wisdom, now returned to share their understandings and experiences. What they had imbibed the previous year, they passed on with thoughtfulness, clarity and a sense of purpose.

The children sat in stillness and deep attention, engaging with enthusiasm and curiosity in the discussions. Each question, a doorway to the inner world and an eagerness to know, to grow, and to feel more connected to something within. “How did Buddha gain so much knowledge by only meditating and being away from everyone?” “How do I forgive someone who hurt me deeply?” “Can I train my mind to be more peaceful?” and so on.

As the session came to an end, the children moved around the Stupa in mindful rounds, chanting together and reconnecting with their inner selves. The joy, calm, and sense of shared space observed in those moments was a celebration of everything children experience at Shikshantar.
