The Magic of Mud
Our children from KG recently embarked on a beautiful journey to connect with the element Earth. Through a variety of immersive, hands-on experiences, we together explored nature on our walks, engaged in storytelling around our environment. By participating in shared activities like cleaning spaces, sieving soil, and exploring different textures, the children’s natural curiosity came alive. They expressed eagerness to collect soil and run their own experiment.
Taking ownership at every step, the children prepared the site meticulously, sieving the soil and mixing the mud to a near perfect consistency. While mixing the soil with water, they stumbled upon a fascinating scientific discovery: mud acts as a natural binding material. One child excitedly shared: “जब हमने मिट्टी में पानी mix किया, तो वो खुद चिपक गया और दीदु ने Fevicol की तरह two boxes को paste करने में help किया!” Driven by their discovery, the little ones decided to build a mini mud house.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the immersive experience of arranging bricks layer by layer. They plastered the walls with support from their bhaiyas and didis and waited patiently for the structure to dry. The children of Kindergarten also painted and decorated their creation with boundless enthusiasm.
Once the roof was placed on top, the children stepped back to admire their hard work, joyfully exclaiming: “यह तो गांव के घर जैसा बन गया।”
