Independence Day Celebrations
Honouring the Spirit of Freedom and Unity, the Shikshantar family gathered to celebrate Independence Day- India’s Birthday, with great enthusiasm and reverence. The morning began with the Flag hoisting ceremony, a proud moment that brought everyone together in tribute to our nation's freedom with the National Anthem - Sung in unity.
The children of ‘Vasundhara’ group put together a vibrant presentation on the background instrumental music, exploring the symbols of India- The Peacock, The Tiger, and The Banyan tree bringing them to life.
The children joyfully swayed to the songs ‘पिप पिप पिप ..., India Ho! Ho! Ho! India..., dispersing to the tune of ‘नन्हा मुन्ना रही हूँ...’, and enjoying the traditional sweet Boondi in their groups
The Primary school children sang together ‘This land is my land...’ reinforcing pride and love for our country.
Minoti Didi shared that independence is a privilege that not every country has and that in our daily lives, we should note when we get to exercise our freedoms.
Students of Class VI in the Middle School presented a sequence of performances that reflected the themes of courage, freedom, and national pride with poetry recitation- ‘Awake, Arise’ a convincing call for awareness, action and awakening among ourselves.
Followed was a Presentation on ‘रानी लक्ष्मी बाई - वीरता की मिसाल ’ a dramatised portrayal of bravery of one of India’s greatest freedom fighters.
The amphitheater echoed with a musical tribute to the pillars of our democracy through the song ‘एकता, स्वतंत्रता, समानता’.
The creative expression on “Achamillai” derived from the powerful Tamil phrase meaning ‘Fear Not’, was inspired by Subramania Bharati’s iconic poem. Students expressed the importance of standing up against injustice with courage and resilience, highlighting the timeless relevance of fearlessness in the face of adversity.
The celebration was more than a presentation, it was a living expression of our shared identity, and a reminder of the ideals that continue to inspire generations.
