Middle and Senior School Large Circle Time - 23rd Shikshantar Birthday Celebration

This year, Shikshantar celebrates its 23rd year - a milestone that represents both the wisdom of experience and the energy of new beginnings. We stand rooted, yet our eyes are set on the endless possibilities that lie ahead. This is another opportunity for us to reflect on the journey we’ve taken and the horizons still to explore.

The theme for this year was Oorja - the energy that flows both within and around us. Oorja is about vitality, potential and the invisible threads that connect us all. It reminds us of the spirit that unites us, drives us and propels us forward.

To mark this occasion, the students gathered for a Large Circle Time, bringing together Classes V to XII in one shared space to celebrate our past and reaffirm the values that continue to guide us on our journey.

The students of Classes V, VII and VIII created their group poem ‘Expressions around Shikshantar’, weaving poetry around their experience growing up in the lap of nature that is Shikshantar.

The Class IX students shared the story of ‘The Three Friends’ - Shikshantar’s humble beginnings through a lively skit, capturing the essence of our school’s roots.

The Class XI students contributed in a remarkable way, creating an entirely original song that expressed their love for Shikshantar. From the lyrics to the melody, they immersed themselves in the process, working together to create something truly unique.

The students shared that the school acts as a catalyst keeping the positive energy alive once they venture outside into the world beyond Shikshantar. They portrayed their thoughts and experiences in the form of interesting anecdotes - “पेड़ों की energy ने मुझे खींचा और मैं चढ़ गया और बड़ा हो गया’, “मैंने मिटटी में खेल कर अपने अंदर की ऊर्जा को समझा ”...,

There was a sense of excitement in the air. The connection between past and future and the potential we hold is what makes Shikshantar so special. Every year, we live the energy of our collective Oorja - from the way we celebrate our history to the way we breathe life into the stories we create together.

Minoti Didi shared her thoughts on how Oorja manifests in everyday life, especially on Shikshantar’s special days. Wishing the children well, she exclaimed that the boundless energy of the children sustains the school and that she hoped to see it continue to grow with the same enthusiasm.
