 Hamara Kal

A ceremonious school farewell, Hamara Kal, was organised by XI graders for their seniors, Class XII Batch of 2024, to bid them goodbye with a wish and hope that they fare well in their forthcoming board examinations and their future endeavours.

The theme for the event was thoughtfully selected to be metamorphosis, representative of their journey in Shikshantar. The organising batch of students envisioned their senior's course of transformation; from toddling / sand-pitting their way through Vanar Vatika to gliding on the mound in middle years, from sprouting in early senior school to finally growing wings and stepping into the world out there - all of this as a metamorphosis; similar to a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly. . .

The event started with lighting of diyas, followed by music and dance performances, making the students reflect on their experiences at Shikshantar over the years.

Minoti didi filled the students with zest and encouragement with her relatable advice. She spoke to them about the essentiality of not letting oneself be clouded by self-doubt and “gaslight” themselves; that, how easy it is to ignore what we think does not feel right in face of the practicalities of life. Her counsel reinstated students’ belief in the person they are and resonated with the idea that what does not feel right is almost never right.

Sharings by students of Class XII brought to the room a wave of nostalgia. From reminiscing about the memories shared with their friends to life lessons being learned along the way, each sharing was warm and heartfelt. From well prepared gratitude speeches to spontaneous expressions which brought to life the latent memories of everyone’s childhood at Shikshantar; the event was a collage of colourful emotions and memories plethora.
