 Guru Purab - Prakash Utsav

The auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti was celebrated as 'Prakash Utsav’. The celebration began with ‘Nagar Keertan’, children enthusiastically singing ‘शबद’ - ‘सतनाम सतनाम जी… ‘spreading positivity en-route the celebration area. They lit the Diyas in the corner created by Didis who facilitated by reflecting upon the light within us and like one diya becomes the light for so many more, we should always aim at spreading the light within us as compassion, kindness for all in need and remembering the deeds of Guru Nanak Dev ji. One child from each class took the lead in singing ‘शबद’ - ‘थिर कर बैसा हर जन प्यारे…’ ‘जो मांगे ठाकुर अपने ते…’ spreading harmony in the atmosphere.
In Middle school a session was initiated by a grandparent from grade V, who emphasised the need to understand that kindness, generosity and good behaviour is the need of the hour which Guru Nanak preached in his teachings. She also suggested that every child needs to do one act of kindness on a daily basis.
Two students from Class VIII took the initiative of singing - ‘शबद’- ‘जय जयकार करें सब…’ in the meditation room adding oneness and harmony to the calmness of the space.
They also recited ‘एक ओंकार’ and enjoyed the holy blessings in the form ‘कड़ा प्रसाद’.
