Guru Purab was celebrated in Shikshantar in remembrance of the values of selfless service and kindness that Guru Nanak Dev preached. As they made their way to the celebration area, the Primary School children enthusiastically sang the ‘शबद’ - ‘सतनाम सतनाम जी...’ during the ‘Nagar Keertan’ keeping spirits high.

In Pre Primary School, the little ones explored the essence of the chants they sang and the social emotional value they hold. Back in their groups, they shared prasad with their friends, putting teachings into action.

Gathering at the corner created by Didis, the Primary School children recognised the significance of Guru Nanak Jayanti as ‘Prakash Utsav’ that celebrates the light within us and its potential to spread to those around us through compassion. The group Didis took the occasion to once again treat the students to stories about the deeds of Guru Nanak Dev ji.

In Middle School, a session was initiated by a grandparent from Class V, who emphasised the need to understand that kindness, generosity and good behaviour is the need of the hour which Guru Nanak Dev Ji preached in his teachings. She also suggested that every child needs to do one act of kindness on a daily basis. Two students from Class VIII took the initiative of singing songs in the meditation room, adding oneness and harmony to the calmness of the space.
