Dussehra Celebration 2026

The Front Lawn of Shikshantar came alive with reflection, expression, and celebration as we gathered to celebrate Dussehra. The children explored the nine emotions (Navarasas) through the week with कबीर के दोहे and creative movements.

The morning began with the collective chanting of Om, bringing everyone together and creating a shared energy for the celebration. The context was set by the Didis, followed by a thoughtful presentation by Purva Group, exploring the nine emotions through creative expression.

The Class IV children explored the Navarasas, describing the situations and moments in which they find themselves facing each of the emotions in their daily lives. A little roleplay and creative movement gave a deep glimpse into the ways children face conflict.

Before the children sang a song based on Kabir’s timeless words, Seema Didi spoke to the children about understanding our emotions. She encouraged everyone to look within, recognise the qualities that shape our thoughts and actions, and how reflection can help us move towards greater awareness, compassion, and truth.

The little ones in Pre Primary also visited their corner where they saw the Golu clay dolls they had created. Going on a journey through Gujarat, everyone swayed together doing Garba to the rhythmic beats of the dholak, bringing children, Didis, and Bhaiyas together in the joy of movement.

Through poetry, music, dance, and shared reflection, the celebration became an opportunity to explore the emotions that connect us and recognise the importance of coming together as a community. A heartfelt celebration of Dussehra, it reminded us that the journey towards goodness begins with looking within and growing together.
