Deep Roots, Wide Branches
Time for transition into the new academic year and excitement for what lies ahead of us!
Shikshantar’s Primary School team deep dived into a fascinating experience of identifying the
‘Green Flags’ in the form of strengths within each one of us, which we will carry in the new
academic year as a foundation for constructive work to be done with the children.
Embodying resilience and wisdom coming from deep rooted growth, the strong tree became
the center of our activity. It was heartwarming to recall all our diverse strengths and display
them as notes written on paper leaves pinned on tree branches reflecting the
interconnectedness between all of us. With an eye on the future, we did not miss upon writing
on the cutouts of roots what we would work on, further strengthening our essence and
grounding the tree of the Shikshantar family.
Naturally, It was also a time to reflect ‘Through the eyes of our children’ and visualise the kind
of person the children see us as. Each one of us depicted ourselves from the perspective of the
children through an introspective experience using symbols.
As each of us took a step towards transitioning with wisdom and collective energy, we observed
the tree branches growing wider and the roots reaching deeper, an indication of the collective
strength of our team.
