Celebrating Silence Within and Around Me
The Class III children engaged in a week-long experiential journey of ‘Celebrating Silence Within and Around Me’, where silence was explored not as the absence of sound but as a meaningful presence. Through mindful observation of still water, the fragrance of wet soil, the softness of rose petals and the gentle glow of a lamp, children connected with silence through their senses. Each experience was followed by a reflective write-up or creative expression, allowing them to internalise feelings of calmness, awareness and peace.
The journey beautifully aligned with the spirit of Buddha Purnima, as children learned about Gautama Buddha and the value of inner stillness. The introduction of the ‘String of Silence’ encouraged them to consciously choose moments of quiet during their day. The week culminated in a heartfelt ‘Letter from Silence’, where each child reflected deeply and expressed their inner voice - making the experience both personal and transformative.
