Albert Barrow Memorial All India Creative Writing

At Shikshantar, learning often takes the form of rich experiences beyond the classroom. On Friday, July 11th, 2025, the school hosted the Albert Barrow Memorial All India Creative Writing Event, a prestigious event under the aegis of CISCE, conducted annually by Council-affiliated schools across the country.

The event saw participation from students representing MatriKiran school in Gurugram and other schools from Ghaziabad, Hisar, Meerut, all bringing their creative energies to the fore.

The formal competition’s protocols determined by the Council were upheld well with an external supervisor overseeing every stage from topic announcements and reading of the rules to the sealing and dispatching of scripts.

The students and teachers were deeply appreciative of the school’s warm hospitality, welcoming open spaces and the serene green architecture. During the reflection session, a visiting student shared, “All the anxiety of entering an unfamiliar space for a competitive event dissolved the moment we were met with such kindness and grace.”

It was a day of reflection, expression and thoughtful engagement, making for a memorable experience of shared respect and connections.
