A Scrap Can Spark a Movement - Class II
Exploring the theme ‘Our Planet Earth’ began with curiosity and wonder as the children of Class II took a deep dive into the wonders of our planet.
Through stories, conversations and visuals, they began discovering many exciting facts and aspects of the Earth as a planet and its landforms, earth composition - the biodegradable and non-biodegradable material which we, as human beings, consume and waste.
This took them to the next level of understanding - the role and importance of 6 R’s in taking care of our Mother Earth and its depleting resources.
This was just the beginning. The children rolled up their sleeves and turned awareness into action! Embracing the spirit of Kabaad se Jugaad, they began turning waste into wonder.
Once forgotten, all the discarded materials now became the tools of expression and possibilities, reminding all that sustainability is not a concept but a practice. This led to the conversion of cartons, bottle caps, fabric scrap and many other items thought to be garbage into usable bowls, plates, decorations, etc.
The hands-on journey left the children with a learning that change begins with mindful choices and not merely grand ideas.
